Detox Thailand - Successful detox at The Pavan Chiang Mai Resort
A place where peace is an understandment.

As we planned our trip to Thailand, I decided that I would do something new, something that would reset my mind, body and soul". That was when I found The Pavana.
I cannot begin to tell you how our days were in this slice of heaven on earth without first saying that we were on vacation, traveling for two months. This means our eating habits were shambles as well as our sleeping hours, since we spent each day at a different location. We were with our feet up the accelerator trying to get the most of each country and enjoying our days to the extreme.

When we decided to do a detox, we opted to perform a colon cleanse the day before at The Chiang Mai Ayurvedic Center. We wanted to start our detox ready for four days of internal and external cleaning. For our luck – or lack thereof – the recommendations for the first cleanse were to ingest only liquids for at least two hours before treatment. In order to assure the best result possible, we decided to do that 12 hours prior.

You must be asking: Sabrina, why did you do this bowel cleaning thing? Health science lists multiple benefits, such as improved bowel physiology, renewal of the intestinal flora, blood and liver cleansing and improved evacuation. Keeping your bowels healthy is the simplest and most important thing you can do for your health. Some people do it every week; others do it every month or year. The need will depend on each person. A doctor can tell you the ideal frequency.

We arrived at the clinic and went straight to our appointment. The session lasted for about an hour. I will spare you the unnecessary details. Basically, the procedure is performed by two people: one controls the water flow and the other massages the abdomen. It didn't hurt a bit! What is troubling is the intense urge to go to the bathroom.

After the procedure, a resort car took us from the clinic to The Pavana Resort. Our detox was called "3 days of semi-fasting". Answer me: what do you think that semi-fasting is? I imagine that you think, like we did, that this is a make-believe fast, with at least one solid meal a day, right? No! Wrong! When we got there, we found out what "semi-fasting" was and nearly gave up on doing it! Are you ready for the second part of the story? It won't be as serene and peaceful as the first, lol.
